TN Healthy Communities-Healthy Youth Initiative
Led by the YMCA Center for Asset Development; funded by OJJDP
Goals
- Increase awareness of positive youth development
- Educate others on the 40 developmental assets
- Engage community agencies, schools and individuals in an ‘Asset Builders Alliance’ to improve programs, environment and supports for young people as well as providing quality standards/assessment for youth work
- Increase collaboration and communications between agencies working with the asset framework
FREE 2 HOUR TRAINING INTRODUCTION TO POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT – a 2 hour session that gives an overview of the 40 Developmental Assets™ created by Search Institute and why they are important in the lives of youth to promote healthy behaviors, prevent negative risk taking behaviors and help youth be resilient. *** A $400 savings for middle TN organizations, funded by OJJDP, is available until May 2010.
